About Me
Dr. Madhuri S. Kurdi is a nationally recognized academician, clinician, researcher, and educator in the field of anaesthesiology.
With over 28 years of teaching experience, she currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology at KMCRI (KMCRI), Hubballi—one of the premier government medical institutes in Karnataka.
An alumnus of B.J. Government Medical College, Pune, Dr. Kurdi completed her MBBS in
1991 and MD Anaesthesiology in 1996. Since joining KMCRI in 1997, she has held various
academic positions, mentoring countless undergraduate and postgraduate students and guiding
future anaesthesiologists.
Dr. Kurdi is a prolific contributor to medical literature, with more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, multiple book chapters including a chapter on endocrine surgery in the
latest edition of the iconic book “Lee’s synopsis”and two national clinical advisories to her
credit. She has served as Associate Editor for Indian Journal of Anaesthesia , and holds editorial positions in several national journals.
She is a certified National Medical Commission(NMC) resource person in medical education, having completed the prestigious One-year Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) . Her clinical and research interests span anaesthetic pharmacology, obstetric anaesthesia, sleep medicine, supraglottic airway devices, and research methodology.
She is an examiner for postgraduate anaesthesiology courses in top universities across India and frequently invited as faculty, speaker, and panelist at national and international conferences.
As a leader, she has served as the President of the ISA Hubli-Dharwad branch, steering several award-winning initiatives and academic events.
With a passion for teaching, research, and academic excellence, Dr. Madhuri Kurdi continues to inspire the medical community through her work, leadership, and dedication to the advancement of anaesthesia practice and education in India.
